If they are single mothers who will pay the bills why they are in treatment. The biases that exist against women being addicted. Society definitely looks at women differently then at men on this issue. There are very few treatment centers designed specifically for women and also many women that have addiction issues also have issues separate from those of addiction that may or may not contribute to the addiction, such as child hood trauma, sexual molestation. And these issues need to be addressed along with the substance addiction. Remember woman are brought up with the unseen eye watching them all the time. They have pressure to be perfect - wife, mother, colleague, boss, singleton, cook etc etc etc. When they find that they are less than perfect and have to admit this to the world, the stigma that is attached to that are huge.<br><b>References : </b><br> stigma, depends on the circumstance the find themselves in.
